Temporary expansion of the existing terminal at Leeds Bradford
The travel trade is notorious for sudden or unusual peaks in demand. Two UK airports recently dealt with sudden capacity problems in an innovative way. Leeds Bradford International has expanded existing terminal/check-in capacity to cope with the summer rush with a Veldeman design that will remain open for 5-10 years. And East Midlands Airport has installed a semi-permanent 5-year solution to tide them over until a new, traditional building is completed.
Both solutions provide perfect insulation, with a skin either side of a rock wool filling to achieve optimal U-values. The structures also come with air conditioning and heating, while steel cladding and an anti-vandalism system guarantee great security. Additional options included automatic doors and glass windows.
