New Horizon for Arena Structures at BMW PGA Championship

BMW’s VIP guests were the first to enjoy the fantastic hospitality environment in the newly launched Arena Structures’ Horizon hospitality double decker suite at the BMW PGA Championship 2008.

They watched the 2008 Championship open in glorious sunshine with Paul McGinley breaking the new course record at the prestigious Wentworth Club. There followed three more days of World class golf from the 150 strong field that culminated in a play-off won by Spain’s Miguel Angel Jiménez.

Arena Structures’ new Horizon facility marks a further evolution in the standards of sporting hospitality environments. The new glass fronted double decker temporary structure gives improved viewing for guests, in this case straight over the 18th green, and features a brushed stainless steel and glass balcony system. For the BMW PGA Championship the sleek black foyer made a great first impression, leading to an internal atrium that focused BMW’s guests onto the most recent M6 model, whilst beautifully designed bars, dining areas and relaxing zones combined to create a stunning venue.

However Arena, in terms of cutting edge product, construction and project management has helped move this event to an even higher plane with their new Horizon structure.”

Arena Structures also supplied the structures for the public village and BMW exhibition, the media centre and the Players Lounge, creating a crisp, fresh look on the pristine course. In-keeping with the effort to minimise its carbon footprint it included re-usable hard-wood decking rather than the single use astro-turf used previously.

Arena Scaffolding ensured secure foundations for structures built over un-even ground and supplied the camera towers and leader boards around the course. Sister company Spaceworks provided a wide range of contemporary furniture ranging from white leather and chrome sofas to outdoor wooden tables and chairs.
